Billie's
About This Spot
Nestled quietly on Hampton Place, Billie's is the kind of café that instantly invites you to slow down and settle in. Its intimate, warmly lit space fosters a calm, unhurried rhythm—where the clink of coffee cups and soft conversation feel comfortably familiar. Though cozy and modest in size, it holds a feeling of openness, drawing in a gentle buzz of neighborhood chatter and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed espresso.
The atmosphere here dances between casual and thoughtful—a spot where locals linger over strong coffee and generous breakfasts that feel both rooted and inventive. Billie's manages to strike a lovely balance, offering a relaxed pace that suits early risers and mid-morning visitors alike. The small dining room fills quickly, a sign of the connection it has with its community, where the familiar faces of friendly staff and returning guests blend easily into the background hum.
Food at Billie's is a quietly joyful discovery with each plate arriving as a carefully assembled moment of comfort. From softly scrambled eggs nestled alongside smoky bacon to the rich, melted embrace of their signature farmhouse hash, every dish carries the kind of depth found in good home cooking, elevated with a touch of originality. Vegetarians and vegans are welcomed warmly here, with plates thoughtfully composed to feel just as satisfying and hearty. Whether it’s the golden crispness of browned mushrooms, a fragrant splash of roasted tomatoes, or a velvety avocado toast, each bite mirrors the care that ripples through the room.
Billie’s isn’t about rushing or fanfare; it’s about lingering over the small pleasures of a well-made breakfast—the warmth of a perfectly pulled cappuccino, the balanced tartness of fresh orange juice, the quiet delight in a shared moment. It’s a place to reconnect with the simple joy of mornings that unfold at their own pace, embraced by genuine hospitality and an understated sense of belonging.

A gem for delicious breakfast and brunch in Brighton! I've been meaning to pop by Billie's for a while, as the café always comes up on top-rated lists for must-eat spots. Immediately greeted with super friendly staff and just that cosy/relaxed vibe. The menu is packed to the brim with delicious options - from their signature hash to to muffins and your classic fry up. Vegan and veggie options are available, too! I opted for the popular farmhouse hash - sausage, bacon, beans, pan fried with hash potatoes, topped with an egg and grilled cheese. Sounds good? IT IS. Upon first bite I said "wow" out loud. The sausage in particular is next level. The potatoes moorish and full of flavour. It just works so well. It is a little bit on the pricier side with most dishes over £10, but it is worth a bite (literally) Will definitely try other options in the future! Staff were friendly, welcoming and delivered top-notch service - Thank you team Billies!

Everything you’d want in a little cafe - fantastic atmosphere, strong coffee and amazing food. The cafe is small but has a good mix of larger and smaller tables (6 seemed like the max). The service is friendly but a little slow sometimes. The food here was amazing. The hash with melted cheese and the toppings was out of this world. Exactly what you’d need to start a day. Very big portions that are very filling. Highly recommend

Ah! What a lovely little place I stumbled onto while in the area. Huge portions! Fabulous service. I continued to order from them even when back in my hotel! I had the vegetarian hash which was just exceptional.

This place is old school, with new school decor, cleanliness, hygiene, food service and coffee quality. I’d never had a hash but it was generous and tasty. The ingredients are quality, particularly the (local made) sausages and the waitress is so attentive, prompt and hard working. Thank you!

Absolutely loved this little cafe! It was so cute inside, with the perfect retro vibes and beautiful window seats that made for such a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious—super comforting and full of flavour—and the milkshakes were amazing( and adorable too!). Service was friendly, fast, and super welcoming. Definitely one of those hidden gems you’re glad you found. Can’t wait to come back!
